VNS 15:46, 2014/01/23
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has asked that the East Sea and Vietnam`s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes be taught at all levels.

The details of the content to be included in school textbooks will be discussed by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Party Central Committee's Commission for Organisation and other agencies.

Such changes to text books will be carried out during the drafting process under the national project on renewing textbooks and education programmes.

The Prime Minister also assigned the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences to begin working on the Vietnam History book, also recognized as the National History.

The book will become the country's official history book, and will include the latest analysis and research on Vietnam's history.

The academy will work with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Historical Science Association, and other agencies, as historians throughout the country are consulted.

Prime Minister Dung also asked agencies to propose recommendations to improve state management over research, drafting and publication of historical works.
