Chevening Scholarships 2020 is awarded to international students who demonstrate leadership potential and who also have strong academic backgrounds. The scholarship offers financial support to study a master’s degree at any UK university and the opportunity to become part of an influential global network of 50,000 alumni.

Chevening provides scholarships which cover all the student’s expenses, leaving applicants free to focus on achieving their academic goals and enjoying the experience of a lifetime. They will live and study in the UK for a year, during which time they will develop professionally and academically, grow their network, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK, the ambassador said.

The call for new applicants follows the selection of some 1,800 scholars who won an award to study at a UK university this year. These scholarships represent a significant investment from the UK Government to develop the next cohort of global leaders.

In order to receive a Chevening Scholarship, all applicants must demonstrate that they have fulfilled the Chevening English language requirement. Chevening accepts both the IELTS Academic and IELTS Academic for UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) with a minimum overall score of 6.5 and a minimum score for each component of 5.5.

Chevening began in Vietnam in 1993 and since then more than 400  students across the country have studied Master Degrees in the UK under the program.

For 2020-2021 academic year, there will be ten additional scholarships for applicants wishing to study in many excellent universities in Wales, making a total of 34-38 places for Vietnamese students.

The deadline for the receipt of online applications is November 5, 2019. All applications must be submitted through the online Chevening portal: http://www.chevening.org/vietnam.
