Developing a scheme to host the 31st SEA Games
The Government Office has announced Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s conclusion at the meeting about hosting the 31st Southeast Asia Games in 2021.
Accordingly, the hosting should be prepared thoroughly and reported to the Politburo.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to work with relevant agencies to develop a scheme related, clarifying the number of events and their contents in line with the country’s conditions and programs of the Olympic and Asian Games.
The scheme is required to include training plans for the country’s competitors attending the event, he said.
The Prime Minister asked for no new construction using the State budget and requested taking advantage of available facilities and upgrading or repairing if necessary.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism was assigned to cooperate with the Ministries of Finance and Planning and Investment to study and include the hosting in the 2016-2020 investment plan while calling for capital from society.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism was also asked to report the scheme to the Government before it could go to the Politburo for a final decision and inform the Southeast Asian Games Federation about the hosting in accordance with the organization’s regulations.
