Delegation of Overseas Vietnamese visits Truong Sa archipelago

The Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Navy force held a delegation to visit the Truong Sa (Spartly) archipelago and the rig DK1 from April 18-24.
The delegation was attended by nearly 70 Vietnamese expatriates from 22 countries and territories.
The visit is part of activities to mark the 41st anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and national reunification (April 30) and the 41st anniversary of the liberation of the Truong Sa (Spartly) archipelago (April 29).

This was the 5th visit that the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs has organised to bring overseas delegates to the Truong Sa (Spartly) archipelago and has had the largest attendance of overseas Vietnamese.
During the 11-day voyage, the expatriates visited many islands at the Truong Sa archipelago as Son Ca, Nam Yet, Phan Vinh, Da Tay, and the rig DK1.

Overseas Vietnameses were also introduced carefully about the Truong Sa archipelago, Vietnam's islands, and determination to safeguard sacred islands sovereignty of the Party, State, army, navy and air forces, and the people.
The expatriates participated in some exchanges with military and civilian in island at the Truong Sa archipelago.
In particular, during the trip, expatriates also attended the commemorating ceremonies of martyrs sacrificed on the Truong Sa archipelago, in the southern continental shelf in the rig DK1.

With all members of the delegation, the visit is a special and emotional experience.
On the occasion, many meaningful gifts were presented to soldiers, officers and residents living on the Truong Sa archipelago by the delegates, the Navy Command and the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs.

Shared on the visit's success, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang - Acting Director of the Department of Culture and Information - the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, said the trip helps to provide insights on tha national maritime sovereignty protection of the Party, State and Army.
The Vietnamese expatriates shared that this visit will contributes to promoting the education and information to the community in overseas countries and local residents in order to better understand Vietnam's maritime sovereignty and islands sovereignty protection.
