Contemporary Art Exhibition “Du & Doi”
Tran Mau 11:45, 2017/11/08
Exhibition of 300 paintings created with various media by two artists Ngo Xuan Binh & Le Van Thin.
The art exhibition “Du & doi” by artists Ngo Xuan Binh and Le Van Thin, featuring more than 300 artworks created with various media: lacquer, oil, dó paper, mixed media,…
The exhibition focuses on the mental concept of traditionality and modernity with an aim to realize that the world has always been miraculous, loving and brand-new. This is the chance for audience to see and appreciate the artworks by the two artists, as well as preserving and promoting Vietnamese contemporary art to local and international publics.
Ngo Xuan Binh was born in 1957, also known as the creator of Nhat Nam martial arts and a Vietnamese traditional medical practitioner. In recent years, Ngo Xuan Binh has become one of the most remarkable artists with the oil paintings at his Minsk and Moscow exhibitions. He is one of the two people who were given the title of “Honorary member” by the Russian Academy of Arts.
Le Van Thin was born in 1952, currently a lecturer at Hanoi Open University. He is famous for his “white” lacquer paintings using egg shells and seashells. His recent works, which honor the beauty of nature and humans, were said to be, according to artist Ly Truc Son, “in his own way of painting, very unique and distinctive” with a style that “absolutely cannot be duplicated”.
The exhibition will open on 9 November and be on display until 27 Feb 2018 at 4th floor, Hanoi Museum, Pham Hung street, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi.
