Concert “A Night of Italian Music”
The HCMC Opera House will be “transferred” to the Mediterranean where audiences are entertained with finest Italian music compositions on the evening of November 8th.
Violinist Vinh Pham will showcase his virtuosity with Paganini’s Concerto No. 1 in D. Major, accompanied by the world acclaimed arias by HBSO’s opera talents and Saigon Ladies Singers.
Composed exactly 200 years ago, Violin Concerto No. 1 in D Major of Niccolo Paganini will be brought back to life by the hands of Vinh Pham, a famed concertmaster returning from France. In 1986, he was admitted to International Academy of Menuhin in Gstaad, Switzerland where he studied under tutelage of the great Yehudi Menuhin and Alberto Lysy and performed alongside them in Europe’s most prestigious concert halls in Paris, Barcelona, Geneva, Davos, Bern, Helsinkin… Vinh Pham has been teaching and conducting many concerts and solo performances with multiple ensembles in Europe, the U.S, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Middle East. Since 1996, he has been guest or honored concertmaster in France’s symphony orchestras. In April 2008, he became Concertmaster for Philharmonic Orchestra of Marseilles Opera.
The evening’s second half will be outstanding aria performances with works of the greats like G. Rossini, G. Donizetti and S. Gastaldo. HBSO’s opera heavyweights like Cho Hae Ryong, Maestro Ta Minh Tam, Phan Khanh Ngoc, Pham Duyen Huyen, Dao Mac, Pham Trang, Phan Huu Trung Kiet, and the special appearance of Saigon Ladies Singers, will definitely deliver a performance to remember. The orchestra will perform under the baton of conductor Tran Vuong Thach, Director of HBSO.
