China violates the Vietnamese sovereignty when operating observatory systems in Truong Sa archipelago and needs to stop the operations immediately, Spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang of Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) stated.
China must closely follow the Agreement on Basic Principles Guiding the Settlement of sea-related Issues between the two countries and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), Hang said at the MÒFA’s press conference on November 8.
She affirmed that Vietnam has all legal basis and historical evidences proving the sovereignty over the two archipelagoes of Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel).
Hanoi demanded Beijing avoid any activities that harm the stability and security in the East Sea and ruin all parties’ efforts in negotiating the DOC.
Hang said that the Vietnamese related agencies are handling the issue.
