Chairman Dung made the statement at a press briefing on July 16, announcing the launch of the new Vietjet Air route between the two localities.
At the press briefing, Can Tho and Danang municipal officials asked Vietjet Air and other ancillary businesses to ensure on time flights along with high quality services.
Le Minh Son, Vice Director of the Can Tho City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the new route has encouraged businesses, such as hotels, restaurants and travel agents, to support the event by reducing prices of services, like accommodation, food and visiting tickets by 30-50%.
The new route will officially operate on July 22 with three return flights per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and is expected to serve around 10,000 passengers per year.
The round trip tickets will be VND480,000 (minimum) and VND4 million (maximum).
