The event will feature an art performance of amateur southern singing and folk melodies and a scientific seminar to provide a forum for a dialogue on the importance of safeguarding and preserving this intangible cultural heritage.
During the festival, a ceremony to grant a UNESCO certificate recognizing amateur music as an intangible cultural heritage of mankind will also be held.
Earlier, the Intergovernmental Committee of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage recognized Don ca tai tu as an intangible cultural heritage of mankind at a meeting held in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The organizing board said that this is also an opportunity to promote the image of the southern region to attract tourists, contributing to the region’s socio-economic development.
