Manzi is pleased to host “Shades of the Sounds” – a contemporary music concert by the Hanoi New Music Ensemble and Dong Kinh Co Nhac (the Ancient Music Group of Tonkin), featuring works by composer Vu Nhat Tan and Hat Tuong – traditional opera of Vietnam.
As a way of expression and cognition, music is a universal language to mankind. Each ethnic group, through its long history of formation and development, has created their own music with distinctive features and characteristics.
“Shades of the Sounds” is a program combining contemporary music and traditional music through the works by composer Vu Nhat Tan and Hat Tuong.
With the criterion “to sing as to behold”, Hat Tuong is a captivating art form, its distinct vocal and performance techniques immerse the audience into different emotional states.
The concert is a journey into the sound of music of the past and present.

For Benoit, the first week at the new school is unlike anything he has imagined. Benoit got bullied by the gang of Charles, and his only friends are the other “nerds” in class. Fortunately, there’s Johanna, a pretty Swedish student with whom he befriends and has a crush on. Charles’ gang tries to come in between the two. Follow his uncle’s advice, Benoit throws a party and invite all his classmates, which he hopes would be the occasion to become popular and get Johanna back.

Apart from helping people to challenge themselves, with this September run, the organizers hope to bring a bigger meaning to our action, which is encourage and support the reading culture in our community.
The event hope to receive your donation to the Reading culture fund by these following methods
Cash donation: Each participant is invited to contribute VND30,000 (US$1.29) to the Reading culture fund (at door or through bank transfer. Account number: 12110000313073, account holder: Nguyen Van An, BIDV at Hai Ba Trung branch.
Book donation: You can directly donate old/new books to the Reading culture fund at the day of the event or in advance at: Office of the Book and Action Project (Du an Sach va Hanh dong) – Room 503, Apartment building 129, 51 Quan Nhan, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi.
