5th East Asian Seas Congress to focus on sustainable development
Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment held a press conference on November 11 to announce the 5th East Asian Seas Congress which will be organised in the central city of Da Nang from November 16-21.
The 5th East Asian Seas Congress, themed “Global targets, local benefits – Setting the sustainable development agenda for the seas of East Asia beyond 2015”, is expected to attract about 700 delegates from both at home and abroad.
The congress will include a series of seminars, forums and roundtable talks, serving as platforms for scientists and managers to share experience and achievements, looking to build a green economy and sustainable development of natural resources and maritime environment protection in the East Asian seas.
At this congress, Vietnam aims to send the message to international delegates: "Let's cooperative to protect the natural resources and maritime in the East Asia seas for our benefits."
Speaking at the event, Vice Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Chu Pham Ngoc Hien said the congress will focus on discussing key topics such as protecting marine ecosystem and sustainable development of natural resources in the East Asian seas.
