30 contestants to compete at the finale of Miss Vietnam 2016
A press conference to announce the final night of Miss Vietnam 2016 was held by the Organising Board at Saigon Pullman Hotel on August 22.
At the event, Le Xuan Son, Chief Editor of Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper and head of the Organising Board said the grand finale of Miss Vietnam 2016 is slated for Phu Tho Sporting Event Hall in HCM City on August 28, with the competition of 30 outstanding contestants.
The night, to be broadcast live on Vietnam Television Channels 1 and 9 as well as 14 local TV channels, will also see performances by many famous Vietnamese and foreign singers.
Specially, the final night will organise a gala with red carpet to welcome the guests for the first time.
The judges the contest are historian Duong Trung Quoc, Vice President and General Secretary of Vietnam Association of Historical Studies, head of the Jury, poet Huu Viet, People's artist Ha The Dung, Chairman of the HCM City Dance, Miss Vietnam 2012 Dang Thu Thao, photographer Pham Hoai Nam, runner-up of Miss Vietnam 1994 Trinh Kim Chi and doctor Le Diep Linh at Military Medical Institute 108.
The final night will see competitors vying in ao dai (long dress), bikini, party dress and final question and answer rounds,
Miss Dang Thu Thao, Ngoc Han, Thuy Dung, Mai Phuong Thuy, Nguyen Thi Huyen, Ha Kieu Anh and Nguyen Mai Phuong will attend the final night.
According to the Organisation Board, the highlight of this year’s contest will be Miss Humanity and Miss Communications, which aims to honour humanitarian devotion to the community.
Nearly 40 billion VND has been invested to 40 charity projects in different areas cross the country, while 500 million VND has been presented to the HCM Youth Union Central Committee’s Fund for Talent Support.
Miss Vietnam 2016 will be crowned with a 2.2 billion VND (89,680 USD) crown designed and produced by Long Beach Pearl, and presented with 500 million VND (22,420 USD) in cash.
The three will join a cultural exchange trip to Fukuoka and Nagasaki cities in Japan, according to head of the Organising Board Le Xuan Son.
Along with major awards, the Organising Board will also announce auxiliary awards, including Miss Humanity, Miss Beach, Miss Talent, Miss Integration, Miss Beautiful Face, Miss Ao Dai, Miss Beautiful Hair, Miss Beautiful Skin and Miss Party Dress.
