2017 Season Opening Gala with Martin Lattke and VNSO
Chi Le 19:27, 2017/02/22
Opening gala of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra’s 2017 season which features compositions by Brahms, Rachmaninov, Mozart and Lehar.
With two concerts on 23 and 24 February 2017 with the German tenor Martin Lattke and the VNSO, conducted by Honna Tetsuji, we ring in the New Year after Tet.
The program includes several compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, among them arias from well-known pieces like The Marriage of Figaro and Abduction from the Seraglio.
A concert evening with Mozart would not be complete without The Magic Flute: Martin Lattke, soprano Dao To Loan and the baritone Vu Manh Dung will sing three arias from the undoubtedly most famous opera of the great composer. They take us to an enchanted world in which prince Tamino and his friend Papageno have to face all sorts of tests. The evening program ends with a selection of well-known pieces of the Austrian composer Franz Lehár, amongst others Yours is my Heart Alone or Lips Stay Silent.
