Although Halloween is a typically Western tradition, it has been introduced to Vietnam with one main purpose: to have fun. Nowadays, Halloween party is not only held at tourist sites but almost anywhere in the country, especially in big cities.
A shop owner on Hang Ma Street, Hanoi, which is well-known for toys and hand-made goods, said since Halloween is not Vietnam's traditional festival, only young people come to their shops these days.
However, the street these days is more lively than normal with various kinds of witch hats, pumpkin lanterns and costumes on display.
