Vietnam applies advanced technology to farming
IT-based agriculture cultivation without soil, that is controlled through online information technology systems in a close environment, will appear in Vietnam in the coming time.
This information was revealed at the launching ceremony of the FPT-Fujitsu smart agriculture cooperation factory in Hanoi on February 24 between Vietnamese multinational information technology Corporation FPT and Japan's Fujitsu.
Smart agriculture has been applied with “Akisai” Cloud - the most advanced technology in agriculture.
The Akisai solution, which was launched by Fujitsu in 2012, provides comprehensive support for agricultural management, including material supply, cultivation, preliminary treatment, transport and distribution.
Fujitsu will implement two production facilities including greenhouse cultivation and vegetable factory cultivation in the area of over 400 square metres. Two models will be applied in the cultivation of high value-added vegetables, comprising medium sized tomatoes and low potassium leaf lettuce.
Information and images about the environment and the growing area are monitored and managed not only in Vietnam but also in Japan, through online information technology systems.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat stressed that applying advanced technology to farming will help Vietnam develop modern agriculture with a highly competitive capacity in integration of international markets. He said that FPT and Fujitsu will realise the goal.
Vietnam's agriculture needs more leading enterprises to support farmers to enlarge large markets and provide high-quality products.
It is expected that after the testing period, FPT and Fujitsu will complete out the most suitable farming model to duplicate smart agriculture in Vietnam.
