After more than 5 years of carrying out the Party resolution on perfecting the socialist oriented market economy, improvement has been seen in related legal regulations, policies and mechanisms, especially the ratification of the 2013 Constitution, the revised Land Law, 44 laws and ordinances.

In addition, more than 147 decrees and 16 resolutions, 81 decisions along with a host of circulars, guidance documents were also adopted, thus helping gradually adjust the role of the State in the national economy and promote democracy in economic life.

The Vietnamese economy is in deeper international economic integration based on modern commercial market principles. The export market is expanded to 230 countries and territories with export growth standing at 22.58% on average in the 2011-2013 period.

In his statement, PM Dung affirmed that the market economy is the advancement of human society, the necessity and objectivity, therefore, Vietnam needs to follow market rules and ensure that economic growth must go along with social justice, poverty reduction, environmental protection and sustainable development.

Dung asked the steering committee to gather opinions from the working session aiming to pinpoint the cause of weaknesses and limitations so as to improve socialist oriented market institutions.

“It is essential to find out solutions for mobilizing human resources from private economic sectors, strengthening connectivity and production relations between different economic sectors and simplifying administrative procedures to meet requirements for international integration” Dung emphasized.
