Vietnam's CPI up 2.38 pct in January-November

The consumer price index (CPI) of Vietnam increased 2.38 percent on-year in the first 11 months of 2017, announced the country`s General Statistics Office on Wednesday.
In November, the country's CPI rose 0.13 percent against October and 2.62 percent on-year due to marginal price hikes of eight among 11 items in the CPI calculation basket.
In particular, transportation witnessed the largest gain of 0.68 percent following two price hikes within the month.
Pharmaceuticals and healthcare service went up 0.2 percent as two provinces raised hospital fees, while those of textiles, hats and footwear increased by 0.15 percent.
Housing and construction materials recorded the largest fall of 0.04 percent, telecommunications down 0.03 percent, while culture, entertainment and tourism down 0.01 percent.
Vietnam plans to keep CPI rise lower than 4 percent throughout 2017 compared to December 2016, and this target is highly attainable, according to the office.
