The largest Vietnamese community in California is eagerly preparing to welcome their traditional Tet (Lunar New Year Festival) as the lockdown for Covid-19 in this state has been recently removed.

A cultural display will be held at Thang Long Imperial Citadel from February 4 (or the 23rd day of the 12th month in the Lunar Calendar) to March 1.

A variety of ancient Tet activities will be re-enacted for locals and international tourists to learn about Vietnamese fine traditions.

Local authorities will maintain inspection works at key areas, including Noi Bai International Airport, Yen Vien train station, ports, wholesale markets and shopping malls.

The Lunar New Year or Tet is a significant occasion for Vietnamese people to wish for the best things to come. It is also the sacred time for family gatherings and an important mark for changes, plans, and progress.

In Vietnam, the saying “the first lunar month of the year is the time for pleasure and relaxation” is learnt by heart by nearly everyone.

The company is concerned that demand from China, which accounts for half of the group’s shipments of latex, will fall.

In the late morning, the number of arrivals to the pagoda increased rapidly. Some came to seek blessings for a prosperous year.

During the week-long event, there are also other programs to celebrate the traditional Tet holiday will take place.
