The three-day international exhibition features 120 booths, including 70 domestic booths, showcasing products and technologies from Hanoi and Vietnamese enterprises in the aviation industry.

Speaking at the opening ceremony on March 21 in Hanoi, Acting Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Tran Thi Phuong Lan said the fair is part of a series of 18 global aviation exhibitions to be held in Hanoi in 2023, with the aim of developing a network of high-end production, service and consumption chains in the global aviation industry.

"Through the event, we expect to support Hanoi's enterprises to accelerate the process of restructuring industries in combination with digital transformation, thereby participating more deeply in the global value chain and contributing a large share to the total value of industrial production in line with the capital's socio-economic development strategy," she stressed.

The fair has attracted the participation of the world's aerospace enterprises, such as Airbus, Boeing, Safran, Thales, Mitsubishi, Parker, Chinese airlines such as China Southern, and China Eastern, and about 50 foreign companies from the US, Philippines, Malaysia, China, Japan, and South Korea.

Through the fair, international companies want to study the Vietnamese market and seek partners to develop production chains in the Vietnamese market.

A representative of UK-based Meggitt Vietnam Co., Ltd. said that by participating in the fair, the company had the opportunity to introduce and promote the production of electronic components for aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus and Boeing.

"At the same time, we are looking for partners to cooperate in the production of electronic components for the aviation industry," he told The Hanoi Times.

Stephane Castet, President of ABE (Advances Business Events), said: With an estimated number of eight billion passengers and tens of thousands of aircraft produced in the coming years, the aviation industry will face many challenges from production and services to human resources and new technology integration.

"I believe that Vietnam can and will become an aviation hub for production, exchange, maintenance, and training in the aerospace industry in the future,” he said.
