Director of the Hanoi Transport's Project Management Unit Pham Hoang Tuan said the construction connecting Ring Road 3 with the Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway will facilitate transport, shorten the journey and contribute to reducing traffic congestion and promote socio-economic development.
The project, invested by the Hanoi People's Committee, is slated for completion in 2021, Tuan added.
Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung requested the management board to strictly abide by the regulations on construction procedures to execute works according to schedule and ensure quality, labor safety and environmental protection.
The Hanoi mayor asked the municipal departments of Construction and Transport, and the People's Committees of Long Bien and Gia Lam districts to coordinate closely with the investor to promptly carry out site clearance and reorganize traffic flows.
Besides, the Department of Planning and Investment will coordinate with the Department of Finance to allocate capital in a timely manner for the project in accordance with the schedule, Chung added.
He proposed contractors and consultants build detailed plans to ensure compliance with the contract commitments signed with the investor.
