Vietnamese in Thailand: Heading toward the homeland

In the spirit of supporting Vietnam’s fight against the coronavirus, Vietnamese people in Thailand have donated money, showing their love to the homeland.

Individuals, businesses, and people from the Thai-Vietnam Business Association and the Vietnamese Associations across Thailand have devoted to the donation that is around 860,000 baht (US$30,000).

The aid came from the Vietnamese Thai communities and the Overseas Vietnamese communities in the provinces of Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Nakhon Phanom, Khon Kaen, Mukdahan, Chiengmai, Sakon Nakhon, Bangkok, Loei, Phuket, Chaiyaphum, Chanthaburi, Nongkhai, Amnat Chaoren, Nakhon Ratchasima, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, and Kalasin.

Trinh Cao Son, chairman of the Association of Vietnamese in Thailand, handed over the aid to Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Nguyen Hai Bang, who represented the government and people of Vietnam, thanked the donation that is full of love for the people in the homeland as the donors are also affected by the pandemic in Thailand.

At the time of writing, Thailand has confirmed 2,826 infections and 49 deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Association of Vietnamese People in Thailand has contributed to bringing together the Vietnamese community living in Thailand and tightening friendship between the two countries.

Currently, the association has more than 100,000 members and 26 units and 13 units of entrepreneurs across Thailand. Nakhon Phanom is home to the majority of overseas Vietnamese people in Thailand.
