The Vietnamese company plans to export more semi-trailers to the US market annually.

Vietnamese conglomerate Truong Hai Auto Corporation (THACO) will export a total of 6,050 semi-trailers to the US this November despite the severe impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the fierce competition in the automobile industry.

The Vietnamese group will sell its semi-trailers to Dorsey Intermodal, a subsidiary of PITTS Enterprise - one of 15 major semi-trailer manufacturers in North America.

THACO and Dorsey Intermodal also continue to negotiate new contracts for production and delivery ahead of the third and fourth quarters of next year.

Starting from 2022, THACO will export between 12,000 and 15,000 semi-trailers to the US market annually, while also striving to accelerate exports to both the Australian and the Japanese markets.

Ed Gill, Vice President of Sales at Dorsey Intermodal, said THACO's products are of high quality and fully met the needs of the US market and the traffic standards. THACO’s Special Vehicles Manufacturing Company’s factory at Quang Nam Province's Chu Lai Industrial Park is fully equipped with a cutting-edge technological assembly line that is capable of meeting the US’ technical requirements that create high-quality products.

In the first half of the year, the Vietnamese manufacturer exported over 350 cars and semi-trailers of all types, raising the export value of mechanical components to US$15 million.

This year, the company plans to expand its market to Europe, South America, South Asia, Australia, along with Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Besides, Thaco’s semi-trailers, fuel tanks, and concrete mixers have been exported to Colombia and South Korea.
