The Party chief expects Hanoi to harmonize economic growth with culture and social equality advances, in which economic development must be based on the cultural foundation.

Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue has been holding the post of Secretary of the Hanoi People’s Committee since February 2020.

During the 2016 – 2020 period, Hanoi’s GRDP is estimated to have expanded by an average of 7.39%, resulting in income per capita of US$5,420 in 2020, 1.8 times the national average.

Hanoi’s major political event gathers the participation of 497 delegates representing over 45,000 Party members of the municipal Party Committee.

The priority for Hanoi is to turn its creative aspect into the foundation to realize the socio-economic development goal under the 2045 vision, said the UNESCO chief representative in Vietnam.

In the coming time, Hanoi would step up building a network of transport infrastructure to boost connectivity within the city and with other localities.

With rapid urbanization and growing population, Hanoi is under pressure to address social issues, especially those related to environment and traffic, said the Hanoi Party chief.

At present, Hanoi gives utmost priority to containing the Covid-19 pandemic while continuing strong efforts in improving the business environment and addressing businesses’ concerns.

Hanoi’s economic growth in the eight-month period was estimated at 3.49%, 1.92 times the national average.
