Ho Chi Minh Tourism Festival 2019 draws 40 travel businesses

This year’s festival is set to showcase several promotional programs launched by travel companies and aimed at stimulating tourism activities.
The 2019 Ho Chi Minh Tourism Festival with theme “Happy Summer” will which take place from April 11 to 14, and is expected to draw 150 booths from over 40 businesses in Ho Chi Minh City and 30 provinces and cities nationwide.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, this year’s festival is set to showcase several promotional programs launched by travel companies and aimed at stimulating tourism activities.
On this occasion, the organizing board will launch another nine low-cost city tours in Ho Chi Minh City with prices ranging from VND275,000 to 2 million (US$11.8 – 86), including Ho Chi Minh City Museum, Vinh Nghiem pagoda, 3D Museum, Suoi Tien Amusement Park, SATRA Center, among others.
The new low-cost tours are designed for average people, especially students and workers to learn more about the culture and history of their city as well as promote it as a friendly, safe and exciting tourist destination.
In addition, at this year’s event, the organizing board will sell more than 80,000 domestic and international tours with prices from VND100,000 to 500,000 (US$4.3 – 21.5). Some of the tours on offer will be discounted between 20 and 40%.
According to the organzing board, many kinds of activities will be held during the 2019 Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival, including a ceremony to honor 100 Ho Chi Minh City tourism businesses, a forum  to discuss human resources for Vietnam’s tourism industry and a talk on running  hotel business in the era of digital technology.
In 2018, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed 36.5 million visitors, including 7.5 million foreigners, marking an increase of 17.83% against 2017 number. The city’s tourism sector sets the  target of welcoming 8.5 foreign visitors in 2019, a 14% increase against  last year.
