Exhibition praises most outstanding women of Vietnam
The paint exhibition is being held at at the Ho Guom Cultural Information Center, No. 2 Le Thai To street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi, until January 4, 2021.

A painting exhibition, with the theme “Women and Peace - Women draw and drawing Women" introducing portraits of Vietnamese typical women over time, is one of the activities carried out by Vietnam in the position of a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 period.

Among the nearly 60 portraits displayed in this exhibition, there are portraits of five outstanding women including National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh painted by artist Nguyen Cuong, late poet Xuan Quynh and late writer Duong Thi Xuan Quy painted by female artist and writer Tran Thi Truong, and late female army commander Nguyen Thi Dinh by artist Hai Kien.

The exhibition is jointly organized by the Department of International Organization under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the Hoan Kiem district People's Committee, the Vietnam Association for Intellectual Women under the Vietnam Women's Union with the participation of artists from the Vietnam Art and Cultural Diplomacy Commission.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan highly appreciated the idea of organizing the exhibition by the head of the organizing board, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanamar Luan Thuy Duong, in response to a recent international seminar on the role of women in building and protecting peace jointly held by the MoFA and United Nations.

Within the exhibition, there are also nine workshops including Women with diplomacy for peace (December 15), Intellectual women with peace and prosperity (December 16), Women for Fine Arts and Cultural Diplomacy (December 18), Women for Social Work (December 23), Women in Law and Justice (December 24th), Women in the fields of Information and Culture (December 25), Woman's Beauty (December 29) and Women with aesthetic values (December 30).
