Vietnam has been advised to keep vigilance on the epidemic as the situation is unpredictable.

As many as 95 out of 245 or 38.77% of coronavirus patients in Vietnam have fully recovered, statistics by the Ministry of Health showed Monday [April 6].

The 95 convalescents include several foreigners of Chinese, Briton, French, and American nationalities.

To be considered free of the disease, Covid-19 patients in Vietnam must tests negative for the virus three consecutive times. They must go through a quarantine of at least two weeks to ensure they have fully recovered and will not infect others, since the virus can remain dormant for several days after symptoms disappear.

Vietnam has 150 active Covid-19 patients under treatment across the country.

No death has been reported so far.

After the country’s nationwide isolation mode went activated on April 1, the number of newly-detected cases have been on the decrease. March 5 recorded one new infected case, the lowest figure in the past one month.

However, local officials and health experts have warned the country needs to keep vigilance on the epidemic in the coming days.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on March 6 emphasized the importance of nationwide isolation to contain the spread of the coronavirus and tracing of the sources of contagion.
