22 films join 9th European – Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival

The 9th European – Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival will gather 22 documentary films, including 11 from European countries, namely France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, the UK and Israel and 15 by Vietnamese producers.
The information was announced by Nguyen Nhu Vu, Acting Director of the National Documantary and Scientific Film Studio (DSF) at a press conference on June 6 in Hanoi.

The 9th European – Vietnamese Documentary Films Festival will run from June 8 to 17 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vu added.
The festival is one of the cultural activities hosted by EUNIC - European Union National Institutes for Culture. The festival presents the best selection of documentaries covering a diverse range of themes for movie lovers encompassing the environment, society, culture, heritage, integration, etc.
Many directors will attend the festival and exchanges their experiences with the audience. Some films have won high prizes at international film festivals. “The nineth European – Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival will surely be a great success and bring exciting moments to the audience,” said Vu.
The festival offers audiences an opportunity to gain insights into new cultures as well as exchange activities between Europe and Vietnam, according to Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam Pereric Högberg.
As part of the festival, the Embassy of Sweden in Vietnam will present the Vietnam premieres for the Ingmar Berman through the choreographer’s eye (Golden Prague: International Television Festival 2018, Special mention for extraordinary artistic achievement).
The documentary is about four of Sweden’s most innovative choreographers with principal dancers from Royal Swedish Ballet, interpet Ingmar Bergman through four unique dance performances reflecting human relations and intense feelings – the unspoken word transformed into movements.
